Revolutionizing 3D Printing 
with Multi-Nozzle Technology

The patented multi-nozzle technology enables the simultaneous use of multiple nozzles in 3D printing, even when manufacturing complex parts. While conventional print heads only use the material output of a single nozzle, LIQTRA’s patented technology enables the simultaneous use of multiple nozzles. Unlike 3D printing with single nozzle technology (FFF/FDM), the multiplied material discharge does not compromise in production accuracy even with larger nozzle diameters or thicker print layers. Despite the extreme increase in material output, corner radii and layer thickness stay unchanged in multi-nozzle technology.

Multi-Material 3D Printing

Using multi-material 3D printing offers new sustainable solutions. The use of recycled materials can be limited to the inside of the part. The outer surface of the part is still produced out of virgin material, meeting the given design requirements. This drastically reduces the amount of virgin material without sacrificing surface quality or color selection.

Higher Strength

Simultaneous Material Extrusion from multiple nozzles not only leads to faster 3D printing, but it also introduces heat more concentrated into the previously printed layers. At higher temperatures the bond with the newly printed material gets stronger. With nearly isotropic strength, 3D printing with LIQTRA’s multi-nozzle technology meets up to strength standards of traditional manufacturing processes.

Short Process Times

LIQTRA’s print head FX-7 enables process time reduction of up to 75 % due to individual nozzle control. The constant use of a central nozzle for producing the outer contour path ensures high part quality, while the surrounding nozzles print the inner contour paths simultaneously. The drastic reduction in process time enables new applications that were previously not possible with single nozzle technology.

Redefining 3D Printing Performance

In order to turn the idea of multi-nozzle technology into reality, LIQTRA integrated several nozzles into one print head. The result is cost-effective, reliable hardware that ensures high part quality by combining a hotend designed for high flow rates of seven simultaneously printing nozzles with a water-cooling unit in a very small package.

Digital Platform

3D Printing Software Meets Production Management

The digital platform offers users to centrally manage data, projects and print jobs. The slicing software enables convenient and intuitive process planning. Print jobs can be planned in the browser with integrated communication to our 3D printers. With just a few clicks and no prior 3D printing knowledge, the user can arrive at an optimized print job. Print jobs can be started directly on the 3D printer on site or forwarded to LIQTRA’s 3D printing service.

Print head FX-7

The print head FX-7 is designed for multi-nozzle technology with up to seven nozzles for a fast 3D printing process. An independent nozzle with its own temperature control is integrated for support material.

Water-cooling unit

The simultaneous use of multiple nozzles requires advanced energy management for melting the filaments. The water-cooling unit ensures constant process conditions even with varying melting rates.

Closed build chamber

The insulation of the closed build chamber guarantees constant conditions and uniform heat distribution throughout the large build volume, resulting in better part quality, high part strength and a reliable 3D printing process.

Closed material storage

The material storage provides space for eight filament spools (1x large, 6x standard and 1x standard for support). The closed chamber allows the material to be stored at constant ambient conditions, minimizing water absorption.

HMI

The 10” touch display allows the user to easily operate the machine. The intuitive UI which is consistent throughout the whole process chain, provides the customer with an excellent user experience.

Status LED

The status LED uses different colors to indicate the status of the machine. This allows the user to easily recognize whether the 3D printing process is still running, has been successfully completed or if user input is needed.

Filter

The LIQTRA FX-7 Pro is designed for use in the office. A low noise level of the machine is provided by the high- quality housing. In addition, HEPA and activated carbon filters ensure odor- neutral operation.

Integrated tool drawer

Tools and accessories needed for printer operation can be stored in the integrated tool drawer to make daily work more comfortable. It is accessible when the build chamber is locked during printing processes.
